In an exercise of research and experimentation to find high-performance alternatives to traditional construction systems (often insufficient in extreme conditions), our design is a fully prefabricated modular house that can be disassembled, relocated and transformed based on a bolted-connection laminated timber primary structure.
The main envelope for this entirely renewable structure is an insulated double-layer concrete facade system, with a self-shading algorithmic pattern that adapts to the project’s orientation and significantly increases its thermal performance. Additionally, the overall 100% dry assembling process will drastically reduce construction time (65%) in comparison to traditional on-site methods.
Spatially the main particularity of the design is the noble double-height living space around which, all spaces are organised and that fully opens up to the garden and pool area through a clever large-format multiple-rail sliding door facade system with the highest performance standards.
